Interesting story - read this...

OLD VERSION... The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant's a fool and laughs & dances & plays the summer away. Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed. The grasshopper has no food or shelter so he dies out in the cold. MODERN VERSION... The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant's a fool and laughs & dances & plays the summer away. Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving. NDTV, BBC, CNN show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. The World is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be that this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so? Arundhati Roy stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house. Medha Patkar goes on a fast along with other grasshoppers demanding that grasshoppers be relocated to warmer climates during winter. Amnesty International and Koffi Annan criticize the Indian Government for not upholding the fundamental rights of the grasshopper. The Internet is flooded with online petitions seeking support to the grasshopper (many promising Heaven and Everlasting Peace for prompt support as against the wrath of God for non-compliance) . Opposition MP's stage a walkout. Left parties call for "Bharat Bandh" in West Bengal & Kerala demanding a Judicial Enquiry. CPM in Kerala immediately passes a law preventing Ants from working hard in the heat so as to bring about equality of poverty among ants and grasshoppers. Lalu Prasad allocates one free coach to Grasshoppers on all Indian Railway Trains, aptly named as the Grasshopper Rath The Parliamentary Judicial Committee drafts the Prevention of Terrorism Against Grasshoppers Act [POTAGA], with effect from the beginning of the winter. Finally Arjun Singh makes Special Reservation for Grass Hopper in educational Insititutions & in Govt Services. The ant is fined for failing to comply with POTAGA and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government and handed over to the grasshopper in a ceremony covered by NDTV. Arundhati Roy calls it "a triumph of justice Lalu calls it Socialistic Justice. CPM calls it the revolutionary resurgence of the downtrodden. The UN Secretary General invites the grasshopper to address the UN General Assembly. MANY YEARS LATER... The ant has since migrated to the US and set up a multi billion dollar company in silicon valley. 100s of grasshoppers still die of starvation despite reservation somewhere in India... When we Meet...!!!

This is a mail i got few days back .Thought of sharing it on my blog. I tried a lot to track down the Author to take his permission to publish this lovely writing. If you are reading this "I am going ahead without your permission Sir as it was simply irresistible" Here it goes.... oh! the last 20 years has gone so sooner, The great college days, I started remembering, Seems like only yesterday I finished engineering. Seeing my class mates, after 20 years, My eyes were filled with tears, Everyone has changed a lot, No one escaped nature's plot. Guys who were smart and handsome, have become bald and buxom, Girls who used to fill our dreams, Almost brought out screams. Saw the girl, whom once I thought as my life, oops!, today she is somebody else's wife, after years, talked to her for a little while, learned she is happy, that made me smile. Entered our class' Mr. Romeo, Who has played many a cameo We started teasing him together, About what all he did to-get-her, Project reviews to campus interviews, Nicknames to last bench games, Cultural rehearsals to love proposals, Short term crushes to class room blushes. Everything was fresh in our mind, Wished life could rewind, Laughed, played and rejoiced, Once again we became girls and boys. Chatting and laughing, we all were in elation, Till the painful moment of separation, It was time to part, returned with a heavy heart. Today life is full of commitments, And too many worries, But those cherished moments, Will live forever in our memories..

The Business of POLITICS

POLITICS as a theory is wonderful subject but when it comes to practicals, the very own meaning of its existence has changed. As wikipedia says.. Politics consists of “social relations involving authority or power” and refers to the regulation of a political unit, and to the methods and tactics used to formulate and apply policy. Political science (also political studies) is the study of political behavior, and examines the acquisition and application of power. Related areas of study include political philosophy, which seeks a rationale for politics and an ethic of public behavior, and public administration, which examines the practices of governance. But thy meaning has changed when an adjective “INDIAN “is added to it. India’s political system, now more than ever based on egalitarian democratic values, need to accommodate the changes taking place in its hierarchical social system. We need more dynamic and young people to take up this cause.I was really moved by one of the posters that people where carrying while peacefully demonstrating in Mumbai last week. It said ” We needd CEO and not CM “. True , Running the administration of INDIA is not less than running a BUSINESS Set up. And I bet when figures on Balance sheet is concerned , INDIANS are the best to make it more positive.

Faded Dreams

Life has more to say.. is it? Its a month since i have been transfered to Gurgaon. 30 days of unpredictability was too much to handle. But during this course of solitariness , i got some very good time to think about myself .The emotion that was lost long back. Some things which i desired from bottom of my heart which was burdened by the expectations of my beloved ones, slowly started surfacing and indeed it became aparent. Its said that truth is bitter to handle--True enough. When i look back to last 2years of my career , i say to myself have i done justification to myself? A question that keeps coming back to me again and again..I know the answer but...~~~!!!
